Which promises will be kept by the newly inaugurated president?
Donald Trump has been sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, kicking off his term with an inauguration speech filled with promises of sweeping changes, many with potentially global implications. In light of this, Betsson has introduced a special set of odds focusing on whether these promises will materialize. All pledges will be tracked and analysed over the next four years.
Among the scenarios included in this special are questions such as: Will the United States purchase Greenland? Could the Panama Canal return to U.S. control? Or will Canada become the 51st state of the United States? If all three were to happen, it would currently pay out 28,125 times the stake.
Currently, the odds for the U.S. purchasing Greenland stand at 15.00, while the odds for reclaiming the Panama Canal are 25.00 and Canada becoming a U.S. state are 75.00.
“Trump is truly unique in many ways, but the fact that there is still uncertainty around whether his words will turn into action is what makes this so intriguing. During his speech, we heard a range of bold statements, but the odds remain high that they will actually happen. The question is: how many of these promises can realistically be fulfilled during his time in the White House?” says Robin Olenius, Head of PR at Betsson.
The special includes around ten scenarios, which will be continuously updated as events unfold.
Please note that the odds might have changed since the writing and publication of this article.
