Serie A 2024/2025 Predictions – Inter Milano to win another Scudetto

Who will lift the scudetto and who will go down? Read our preview!

After a long summer of waiting, Serie A football is finally back on our TV screens! Inter Milano, Juventus, AC Milan, Napoli and Roma all got their 2024/25 campaigns underway this month and will be fighting it out for the Scudetto title this season.

Last year, the Nerazzurri went all the way and won the league by an impressive 19 points. But what is going to happen in the Italian top division this season? Let’s take a look through our top ten predictions for the 2024/25 Serie A season, as well as the best odds on some key markets.

Serie A 2024/25 Title Winner Favourites – Best Odds

There are four frontrunners for the Serie A title this season and it should come as no surprise to Italian fans that Inter Milano are top of the pile. The Nerazzurri won the Scudetto last season and have lifted two titles in the last four years. Not only that, but they cantered to a 19-point victory last year, leaving the chasing pack with a whole lot of ground to make up.

AC Milan finished second in 2023/24 but a long way behind their bitter San Siro rivals. Paulo Fonseca and co will be hoping to close the gap this time around, with Rafael Leao and Alvaro Morata more than capable of scoring enough goals to thrust them toward a title charge. Milan last won the Serie A title back in the 2021/22 season but have only lifted the trophy once in the last 13 years.

Juventus are somewhat of a sleeping giant in Italy at the moment amid controversy and points deductions. The Old Lady finished on 71 points last season, a huge 23 behind the eventual champions, Internazionale. The era of Juventus’ dominance in Italy seems to be over, with the team missing out on the league title for each of the last four seasons. As a result of this drought, the quality of the squad on the pitch is also far from the heights of yesteryear.

Napoli suffered a torrid time of it in the 2023/24 campaign, finishing tenth in the league table despite coming into the season as defending champions. Gli Azzurri now have serial winner Antonio Conte in charge, but the former Chelsea boss seems less than happy with the current transfer situation at Napoli. Despite only just hanging on to the top half of the table last year, Napoli remain one of the favourites for the 2024/25 title.

Serie A 2024/25 Title Odds

  • Inter Milano – 1.72
  • Juventus – 4.50
  • AC Milan – 8.00
  • Napoli – 13.00
  • Roma – 25.00
  • Atalanta – 25.00
  • Lazio – 50.00

The Race for the Serie A Top Four

The simple fact of the matter is not everyone can win the Serie A title. Finishing in the top four is still an extremely valuable achievement for clubs in Italy as it guarantees CL football for the following season – and all the money that comes with that. It also helps to attract the best players on the planet when you are playing in the biggest competition on the planet.

Last season, because of their performances in European competitions, clubs in Italy were awarded an extra spot in the CL for 2024/25. That meant Inter Milano, AC Milan, Juventus, Atalanta, and Bologna all qualified for Europe’s premier competition. While this is a regular occurrence for the big three, it comes as a welcome financial and reputational boost to both Atalanta and Bologna.

The race for the top four this season in the Serie A is shaping up to be an exciting one. With Napoli expected to rise back up the table this year, those who finished in the top four last season will have to fight tooth and nail for their place. The likes of Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina, and Torino will also be hoping to surprise people and book their place in the CL for 2026.

Serie A 2024/25 Top Four Odds

  • Inter Milano – 1.05
  • Juventus – 1.20
  • AC Milan – 1.60
  • Napoli – 2.00
  • Atalanta – 2.10
  • Roma – 4.50
  • Lazio – 4.50
  • Fiorentina – 12.00
  • Torino – 12.00
  • Bologna – 15.00
  • Genoa – 17.00

The Fight for the European Places

Because Italian teams performed so well in Europe last season, earning that extra CL spot, it also had a positive impact on teams qualifying for the EL and ECL. Normally in Serie A, the top four get CL, fifth and sixth get EL, and seventh gets the recently new ECL. However, last season, even Fiorentina down in eighth qualified for European football.

While the likes of Inter Milano, AC Milan, Juventus, Napoli, and Atalanta would all be disappointed not to finish in the top four this season, at least one of them is going to miss out. Of course, if Italian teams perform admirably in Europe again this season, there is a chance they could all qualify for the CL by finishing in the top five – but there are no guarantees of that.

Roma, Lazio, Fiorentina, Bologna, Lecce, Monza, Torino, and Genoa will all have their eyes on a potential European place for next season, especially if qualification drops as low as eighth again this year.

The Serie A Relegation Battle

While the biggest clubs in Italy will contend for the ultimate prize this season, plenty of teams will simply be fighting for survival down the bottom of the league. The relegation battle is one of the most exciting parts of a Serie A season and this year will be no different.

At the end of last season, Frosinone, Sassuolo, and Salernitana were relegated from the Italian top flight after finishing in the bottom three. Parma return to Serie A this season after a three-year absence, joined by Venezia who have been away for two years. Como, the third promoted team from last year, have not played in the top division for 21 years!

More often than not, the teams who just got promoted are the most likely to drop back down to Serie B. However, that may not be the case this season. Como have invested in their squad this summer, picking up a load of bargain signings to strengthen the depth of their ranks. Four-time CL winner, Raphael Varane, is the most high-profile of these – signing on a free transfer from Manchester United. Former Liverpool keeper, Pepe Reina, and Villarreal left-back, Alberto Moreno, also arrived on free deals.

Como’s impressive summer transfer window seems to have had an impact on their odds to remain in the Serie A this season too, while Parma and Venezia are seemingly expected to struggle.

Serie A 2024/25 Relegation Odds

  • Venezia – 1.80
  • Empoli – 2.00
  • Cagliari – 2.20
  • Parma – 2.60
  • Verona – 3.50
  • Lecce – 4.00
  • Udinese – 6.00
  • Como – 6.50
  • Monza – 7.00
  • Genoa – 10.00

Serie A Golden Boot Race Odds

The Golden Boot race should be an exciting one in Italy this season, with Inter, AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli all boasting proven goalscorers within their ranks. Last season, Lautaro Martinez won the award with 24 goals in 33 games. In fact, the Inter Milano striker won it by a landslide, with Dusan Vlahovic being his closest rival on just 16. Olivier Giroud and Victor Osimhen both netted 15 times, while Marcus Thuram managed 13 goals.

This year, there has been a shake-up in the Golden Boot odds, with a few new strikers like Alvaro Morata and Artem Dovbyk joining the league.

Serie A 2024/25 Golden Boot Odds

  • Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milano) – 3.00
  • Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus) – 6.00
  • Victor Osimhen (Napoli) – 8.00
  • Artem Dovbyk (Roma) – 10.00
  • Alvaro Morata (AC Milan) – 12.00
  • Marcus Thuram (Inter Milano) – 12.00
  • Mateo Retegui (Atalanta) – 17.00
  • Kenan Yildiz (Juventus) – 30.00
  • Mehdi Taremi (Inter Milano) – 30.00
  • Valentin Castellanos (Lazio) – 30.00

Our Top Ten Serie A 2024/25 Predictions

With the 2024/25 Serie A season now underway, we wanted to make a few predictions for the next nine months of football. Having seen all 20 clubs in action during the opening weeks, this is what we expect to happen this season…

  1. Inter Milano go back-to-back – We predict that Internazionale will lift the 2025 Serie A title, making it two Scudettos in a row and three in the past five seasons.
  2. Lautaro Martinez Golden Boot – We are backing Martinez to scoop his second Golden Boot award in a row after netting 24 goals for Inter Milano this season.
  3. MVP award – After winning the Golden Boot and firing Inter to another Scudetto, Lautaro Martinez will also be named the Serie A Player of the Season.
  4. Marcus Thuram the assist king – We think that Inter Milano will take a clean sweep with the Scudetto, Golden Boot, MVP, and top assist award. Marcus Thuram will improve on his 13 assists last season with an impressive 15 this time around.
  5. AC Milan ten points adrift – We think AC Milan will finish second in the league once again this season, ten points below their rivals in first. This represents some growth for Milan after the 19-point gap last season, but still not enough.
  6. Napoli bounce back – We think Antonio Conte will get Napoli firing again this year, at least back into the top four. He might not make it until the end of the season, but he will at least drag them kicking and screaming back up from tenth.
  7. Top four for Atalanta – Atalanta will finish in the top four for the second season in a row as they look to build something sustainable among Europe’s elite.
  8. Juventus drop out – The Old Lady will struggle once again this season, with a lack of cohesion and clarity on and off the pitch. A fifth-place finish will be a disaster for them.
  9. Italy lose a CL spot – Despite Italy earning an extra spot in the tournament last season, England and Germany receive them this time around. This means the fifth-placed Italian team will not get CL football.
  10. The relegation battle – We expect Venezia, Empoli, and Cagliari to get relegated from the Serie A this season. Como will survive their first year back in the top division after some smart signings, while the likes of Parma and Verona will also hang on in there.

Serie A 2024/25 Betting Tips

With the new Serie A season now underway, we wanted to take a look at some of the best betting tips for the 2024/25 season.

We recommend using the Betsson Bet Builder to get the most out of your predictions. This allows you to combine multiple wagers into the same bet. For example, you could bet on a player to score, both teams to score, and a certain team to win – all combined in the same bet to boost your odds. The Betsson Bet Builder even lets you make predictions based on when you think a goal will be scored.

Inter Milano were known for scoring a lot of late goals last season. In fact, they scored 21 goals in the 76th minute and beyond, which accounted for 24 per cent of their total goals throughout the season. AC Milan also netted 18 goals past the 76th minute, which accounted for 24 per cent of their goals too. Juventus scored 15 after minute 76, making up 28 per cent of their Serie A goals last season. Inter scored 13 penalties compared to AC Milan’s six and Juventus’ three. However, Inter managed just eight goals from corners, while Juventus scored 11 and AC Milan netted 14. Neither Inter or AC Milan scored a direct free-kick last season, yet Juve scored three.

With all this data taken into account, you could use the Betsson Bet Builder feature to assemble a wager that includes AC Milan to score late, Inter to win a penalty, and Juventus to score a direct free-kick, for example.

Fortunately for you, you can build all kinds of betting slips using the Betsson Bet Builder feature. Check out the full markets available on all Serie A games here.
